Semi-Formal sorority event, how to make navy blazer/khaki pants stylish?

Semi-Formal sorority event, how to make navy blazer/khaki pants stylish?
So last-minute this girl at my university asked me to be her date to a semi-formal event. The attire is typical blazer, khakis and dress shirt. I have a very trendy style typically and I don’t want to look like every frat guy there dressed the exact same. What are some things I can put with this outfit (e.g. Color combinations with the shirt, pocket square, maybe even a lapel flower or pin,) to stand out from those guys and look great for this girl while still staying true to a classic look?

Simple Questions – November 30
This thread is for simple style questions that don’t warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Fit checks and “How’d I do” questions are a great use of this thread (although they can also go in the daily Outfit Feedback & Fit Check thread). Other example questions:Could someone take the chest measurement for a small J.Crew oxford? Is there a place with full measurements for Naked & Famous jeans? What slim-fitting green cords do you recommend?Where do I find a military surplus peacoat online? If you’re asking for suggestions for a specific kind of clothing/accessory, state what your budget is.Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged.

Are there any downsides to stretch clothing?

Are there any downsides to stretch clothing?
I feel like it’s the best thing ever invented, and am slowly phasing out most of my wardrobe for clothes with stretch/elastane in them. And it seems like a growing trend, too. It started with stretch jeans and chinos, but now I see stretch OCBDs and dress shirts are starting to become a thing, and have never been more excited.I know I’m not gonna be doing workouts in these clothes, but with the whole “form-fitting, but not too tight” style going around, stretch clothing seems to be the perfect answer – it allows clothes to lightly hug your skin, but does not constrict movement (e.g. squatting down to pick up a pen you dropped on the floor, which I couldn’t have comfortably done with 100% cotton denim, unless it was a baggy fit).Anyone else agree? Are there even any downsides to stretch clothing?
