Trending away from fitted sleeves?
So bagginess in clothing has started cycling back again in styles of clothing, I don’t think there’s much to dispute there. But in particular, I’ve seen a lot more bagginess on the sleeves of short-sleeved shirts, and I just have one question: why?I realize that we don’t all want to dress like James Bond, but I feel like this infographic is more or less the best guide to how the sleeves of a short-sleeve shirt should fit–not bulging at the seems, but relatively tight, to show off your biceps and make your arms look bigger. I think we can all agree that having sleeves flare out only makes your arms look smaller and less defined (example1 example2 example3). These examples were all taken from today’s WAYWT thread, and they weren’t the only ones. In these fits, the baggy sleeve makes arms look smaller and less defined, which I feel the majority of guys try to avoid. So why has baggy sleeves in particular come back into fashion?
