The Devil’s in the Dollar: Buyer’s remorse and coping with questionable decisions
Let’s talk about something that comes as an inherent risk in expanding, experimenting, or developing a wardrobe; Buyer’s remorse. Numerous circumstances can spawn the post-purchase blues; a rash decision made in the face of a seemingly too good to pass up sale, the realization that a brand’s quality is sub-par once the return date has passed, and so on. The stress of these circumstances can stretch beyond being a financial burden; it can spawn a sense of great doubt in one’s own decision making ability or taste when you end up stuck with a piece of poorly-picked clothing that limits your options going forward. So, patrons of MFA, how do you deal with the realization that something you bought on a hype wave, sale, or split-second decision was not the correct decision? Especially in situations where the solution isn’t as simple as returning what you bought.
