Help needed with Charles Tyrwhitt shirt sizing
I really like CT’s non-iron shirts because they come out of the dryer looking pretty darn good and the price is right. I’m looking for help to determine if I should continue buying from them, because I have an issue with restricted movement and the shirts coming untucked when I lift my arm up above about shoulder height. If it doesn’t completely untuck, I’m still left with billowing material around the waist when I lower my arms so I find myself re-tucking my shirt frequently. I also feel that the cuffs ride up a bit more that most of my other shirts as I bend my elbows and raise my arms, making me want to order different sleeve lengths to see if it helps. When I raise my arms I end up with fabric pulled taut under my armpits but extended away from my torso (almost like a miniature wing suit), which I think is the culprit. It’s hard to describe, it’s like this: https://restartyourstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/shirt-armholes.gif.I’ve read conflicting information regarding CT having some sizing changes vs. the shirts I have which are several years old. CT’s own website reviews and customer service told me that the extra slim has gotten larger, while almost everywhere else including Reddit says they’ve gotten more slim. I can’t find any information whether the arm holes and range of motion issue I have with the old shirts has changed. For reference, I’m 5’8″, 150#, 38″ chest, 31″ waist. I have 2 different CT shirt sizes on hand (both from before any sizing changes). My first order was for a 15.5/33 extra slim. It fits well in general, however the sleeves are just a touch long. The shoulders, chest and waist are pretty spot on and the arms are not billowy. While this is probably the correct neck size when I wear a tie I like a little extra room, which is why I changed to the 16/32 extra slim for my subsequent order. The 16/32 is a little too large, the shoulder seam is just past my shoulder bone. Also the arms and cuffs are larger, so the arms are slightly billowy but not terribly so. The sleeves feel too short at times because when I raise my arms up the ride up quite a bit but with my arms at my side they seem ok. The chest and waist are a bit more roomy but without looking baggy, so that’s still mostly OK. Both sizes have the limited range of motion issue.Given all of this info, should I continue to pursue CT shirts or look elsewhere? Will the new sizing help with my range of motion? What size makes sense for me given their sizing changes? Is this something a tailor can fix? If I need to look elsewhere, are there other relatively reasonably priced brands out there with a non-iron fabric that truly can be worn without ironing, that will solve some of my fit issues?

Outfit Feedback and Fit Check – May 31
Post a picture of what you’re wearing to get suggestions, feedback and constructive criticism from the community. When posting, please:Include what the attire is for (work, school, going out, etc.)Include a front-on, full-body picture with your hands at your sides. Multiple pictures from different angles can be helpful, but aren’t necessary. There’s more info on taking good self-shots here.Critiquing others is welcome and encouraged, but keep it constructive/factual. It takes balls to post pictures of yourself on the Internet, the least you can do is accord the same courtesy as you would to someone in real life.Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged.

Weeklyish Fashion Discussion: Internet Fashion and You
Thanks to /u/ghoticptox for posting the thread last week.r/malefashionadvice might be the largest fashion subreddit, but it’s not necessarily how most people interact with fashion on the Internet. These days, fashion communities and advice can be found on a variety of platforms, from traditional forums like Caretags and Styleforum to Facebook groups to Discord servers to Youtube channels. Each platform has its advantages and disadvantages, affecting how the community interacts with each other and fashion as a hobby. Traditional forums have the advantage of long running threads, dedicated to a single brand or topic, while chat room style communities can feel more active. The presence of visible approval or disapproval like upvotes and downvotes also affects what kind of content is submitted. The “splintering” of Internet fashion means that it’s much easier than ever to find a specific community for your niche. If you’re into vintage menswear, you can find your circle fairly quickly and learn from more experienced users. The flipside of that is how insular communities can become and how much it can skew your view of fashion. None of this is bad necessarily, but spend any significant amount of time on an online community and you’ll see certain styles and trends take hold, and a “house style” always begins to take shape. Still, the growth of communities means knowledge is more available than ever, although not all of it is good or even accurate. They change our buying habits, from where we purchase to how much we buy. It’s easy to forget, but there are hobbyists outside of these communities, and the way they interact with fashion is often very different. Not everyone is waiting for those 80% off sales; otherwise, brick and mortar stores would be vanishing at an even faster rate than they do now.How do you interact with Internet fashion? What communities do you participate in, and what differences have you noticed? How does the platform change the community? Why are you here?If anyone has any suggestions for next week, please post them as well.

Daily Questions – ASK AND ANSWER HERE!- May 31
Welcome to the /r/MaleFashionAdvice Daily Questions thread – Our Daily thread to ask about all things related to male fashion. This thread is for style questions that don’t warrant their own thread (although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar and the wiki before posting!). Anyone can post a question and the community as a whole is invited and encouraged to provide an answer. Also, theres a handy-dandy search bar to your right, and if you didn’t know, you can also use Google to search MFA by using the limiter “site:reddit.com/r/malefashionadvice” after your search topic.Be aware that the more information you add (BUDGET), the more relevant answers you may receive.Fit checks and “How’d I do” questions are a great use of this thread (although they can also go in the daily Outfit Feedback & Fit Check thread). Other example questions:Could someone take the chest measurement for a small J.Crew oxford? Is there a place with full measurements for Naked & Famous jeans? What slim-fitting green cords do you recommend?Where do I find a military surplus peacoat online? If you’re asking for suggestions for a specific kind of clothing/accessory, state what your budget is.If you’re looking for item identification from a video take a screenshot, do not link the video.Important: Downvotes are strongly discouraged in this thread. Sorting by new is strongly encouraged.Again, the more information you add (BUDGET or LOCATION), the more relevant answers you will receive.
